Supporting our community
As we said the other day, one of the reasons we’ve managed to grow over the past 10 years – and manage through the challenges of 2020 – is because we’re part of a terrific community: Of pest control experts, of small business owners, and all the many non-profit organizations who support the people of Hamilton and Halton regions.
Though we try to give back throughout the year, this holiday season has been particularly difficult for food banks and other one-to-one non-profits: Food bank usage is up 40-60% across the region, and as the pandemic continues to have the region in lockdown, there is greater need for non-food items such as winter coats and boots, cookware and even small household appliances.
And while the weeks leading up to Christmas tend to see an increase in donations across the board, non-profits expect to see a continued increased need for their services after the holidays, especially until the province is able to open up more fully.
We’ve donated to Good Shepherd for many years and have seen the great work they do for all kinds of people across Hamilton. This year, we also added a food drive, which will help them restock their cupboards after the Christmas rush. Thank you to those of you who took the time to drop off a non-perishable food item!
We know that most people will be happy to see the end of 2020, so we just wanted to take the time to say thank you, we wish you a very happy new year, and we’re committed to helping our employees, clients, partners and community members have a better 2021!
